报告摘要：Advances in artificial AI and the amount of financial support invested in models are increasing at a breathtaking pace. Even considering that many of the rumored capabilities and promises of new AI models are only hype, there is no doubt that AI will impact society in general and the global economy in particular for decades to come. These breakthroughs – and the potential use of this rapidly changing technology for both positive and negative purposes – mean that AI as a scientific field should be addressed not only by mathematicians, computer scientists, and AI experts but also by social scientists and philosophers. In this talk I will present the state-of-the-art and challenges of AI, focusing on the three areas: synergetic AI, agentic AI, and AI safety, ethics, and governance.

报告人简介

Ljupco Kocarev (IEEE fellow, class 2006) is a member of the Macedonian Academy of

Sciences and Arts, professor emeritus at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, Funding Director of the Research Center for Computer Science and Information technologies at the Macedonian Academy. He was a president of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts for the period 1 January 2020 – 31 December 2023. His work has been supported by the Macedonian Ministry of Education and Science, Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, EU agencies (TEMPUS, FP6, FP7, and Horizon 2020), Alliance of National and International Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions, US agencies (NSF, AFOSR, DoE, ONR, ONR Global, and NIH), German agencies (DAAD and DFG), UN (UNDP and UNESCO), and STMicroelectronics. His scientific interests include networks, nonlinear systems and circuits, dynamical systems and mathematical modeling, machine learning, and computational biology. He has co-authored more than 200 journal papers and has been granted 6 patents worldwide.
